There are a THREEE (3) critical things to confirm about the Lawyer you choose:
FIRST
You need someone who is a CRIMINAL LAW EXPERT!
You don't want a "Jack of all trades" or "General Practitioner" handling your CRIMINAL PROBLEM. Just like you wouldn't go to a pediatrician for a heart problem, you need someone who is an EXPERT in what you need. I AM JUST THAT, A CRIMINAL LAW EXPERT. It is all I do. Look at the ads you are reading. If they advertise Personal injury or divorce, they are not A CRIMINAL LAW EXPERT, like I am.
Being an expert who only handles Criminal Cases, I have the respect of the Police, Prosecutors, and Judges. They will respect you if I represent you.
SECOND,
You need someone who handles all phases of the process effectively. Ask the other lawyers when the last time they won a criminal jury trial was. If they haven't tired a case within a year, or won one during that time, they are not a CRIMINAL LAW EXPERT.
Because I am a successful trial attorney, Prosecutors treat me much better than other lawyers. You need someone who has the reputation of being a winning trial attorney.
THIRD,
You need a lawyer who will be with you every step of the way. some lawyers meet with you and send other people to court. Why would you hire a lawyer and give your money to someone who isn't even going to do to court with you? You want the person you hire to be with you all the time!

Ask the other lawyers you interview if they will be with you every time you go to court. You will be shocked at the answers you get.
